Mission Statement

Enhance the quality of life for West University seniors by offering services and activities that promote lifelong learning, social and community engagement, safety, and wellness.

Handymen Program

Through the Senior Service Office, volunteer handymen assist homebound and disabled seniors with minor home repair and odd jobs around the house.  If you are a senior resident in need of a simple home repair, please contact Senior Services at 713.662.5896.

Words on Wheels

Enjoy reading but can’t get to the library?  Senior Services works in conjunction with the West U Library to bring the books to you.  Call the library at 832.927.5490 to reserve your books and Senior Services will bring them to you and return them.

Trash Assistance

For those with special needs, the City provides porch trash and recycling pick up. Call Senior Services at 713.662.5895 for more information about the program.

Purpose & Location

The Community Building and Senior Center is home to the Senior Services division of the Parks and Recreation Department. The Senior Center is a place where active adults ages 50 and up from West U and surrounding communities can participate in a wide variety of fun and stimulating programs ranging from exercise to day trips. Come socialize and make new friends while embracing an active leisure lifestyle.
