Mosquito Control

The City of West University Place monitors mosquito activity through information provided by the Harris County Mosquito Control District.  The City contracts with a private pest control company to complete additional treatment sprayings as needed. 

Harris County Mosquito Control

Harris County conducts regular monitoring year-round for mosquito-borne diseases, including Street Louis Encephalitis (SLE) and West Nile Virus (WNV). If the County detects either of these diseases, it will start spraying the affected and neighboring areas.

Harris County Mosquito Spraying Schedule

  • Months sprayed: Year-round (as-needed based on disease activity)
  • Day(s) weekly spraying occurs: Sunday - Thursday
  • Time of spraying: 8:30 p.m. - 4:00 a.m.
