The City of West University Place monitors mosquito activity through information provided by the Harris County Mosquito Control District. The City contracts with a private pest control company to complete additional treatment sprayings as needed.
Harris County Mosquito Control
Harris County conducts regular monitoring year-round for mosquito-borne diseases, including Street Louis Encephalitis (SLE) and West Nile Virus (WNV). If the County detects either of these diseases, it will start spraying the affected and neighboring areas.

- Months sprayed: Year-round (as-needed based on disease activity)
- Day(s) weekly spraying occurs: Sunday - Thursday
- Time of spraying: 8:30 p.m. - 4:00 a.m.
