Lauri Lankford is a retired attorney with prior business experience. She has an undergraduate degree from Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois and a Master of Science in Mineral Economics from Penn State. She originally moved to Houston after being recruited by Shell to work for Shell Mining Company as a mineral economist. She later attended South Texas College of Law at night while working full time. After obtaining her law degree and passing the Texas Bar exam in 1991, she worked for several national and intentional law firms with an emphasis in corporate and commercial matters, contracts, company law and international transactions.
Lauri and husband Brad have been homeowners in West U since 1992. They are currently living in their third West U home. Lauri served on West U's Building and Standards Commission for two terms, from August 2009 through August 2013, is a member of the West U Garden Club, attends the Thursday evening Tai Chi class at the Community Building, and plays bridge competitively.
