Edloe Street Pathway Improvements

Edloe Pathway News Flash

8/31/23: Great news from the Parks & Recreation Department! Starting today, August 31, the first part of the Edloe Pathway is now open for use. This section begins at Tiny's and extends to the second bridge at Tangley Street.

Visitors should still refrain from walking on the pathway or the gravel in the unfinished areas as the material requires a minimum of 12 hours to dry. We kindly request your cooperation in avoiding those areas until the work is completed.

8/11/23: On Monday, August 14, starting at 5:00 a.m. the contractor will be working outside of normal work hours due to heat conditions. This decision has been made to mitigate the challenges posed by the high temperatures that have been affecting the installation process. This is being done to ensure the successful installation of the porous pavement.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this time as we strive to complete this project safely, efficiently, and with the highest quality results.

7/14/23: Beginning the week of July 17, the contractor will begin the installation of the porous pavement pathway. The contractor has successfully completed the forming and pouring of concrete for the bench pads along the pathway. Additionally, the project has seen the successful planting of all 13 trees that were designated for the pathway.

As the main elements of the pathway are addressed, please note that landscaping will be installed at a later date. This may include additional greenery, shrubs, flowers, or other landscape features that will further enhance the beauty and functionality of the Edloe Street Pathway.

6/2/23: As of Friday, June 2,  the fencing for the project is approximately 90% completed. While this is good progress, there is still more work to be done.

While the fence work will be ongoing, there are still two major tasks to complete. The first is to install a porous pavement pathway, which will enhance the walkability and safety of the pathway. The second task is to landscape the area around the pathway to create an attractive and inviting space for all community members to enjoy.

We understand that this project may cause some inconvenience in the short-term, but the long-term benefits will outweigh any temporary disruptions. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to complete this project.
