Get an Exclusive, Behind -the-Scenes look at Law Enforcement! Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be a police officer? The West University Place Citizen Police Academy is your opportunity to step into the world of law enforcement and experience what officers do every day. This 8-week, interactive program offers hands-on training, behind-the-scenes access, and a deeper understanding of how the West University Place Police Department serves the community.
Bingo With Badges (June 12, 2026)
Bingo with Badges is a family-oriented event for West U residents that offers a unique and fun way to connect with first responders — Police, Fire, and EMS — outside of emergency situations. Participants can play bingo, win prizes, enjoy snacks, take photos, ask questions, and interact with first responders in a relaxed, engaging setting. It’s a great opportunity for families to meet the people who serve their community while enjoying a fun, memorable experience
Teen Citizen Police Academy (July 27,2026-July 30, 2026)
The Teen Citizens Police Academy is an educational and informative program modeled after the West U Citizens Police Academy. The teen academy is designed to give the participants the opportunity to learn about the Police Department and its operations in an effort to demonstrate the benefits of law enforcement and community policing in our city. The academy also gives the department an opportunity to interact with teens within the community and solicit their feedback and ideas through discussion of relevant issues. Through this free four-day academy course students will acquire knowledge and understanding of the functions and responsibilities of individuals providing law enforcement services in West U.
National Night Out (October 6, 2026)
West University Place first responders proudly announce the Annual National Night Out Community Block Party—an extraordinary event designed to celebrate community togetherness and safety. Set to take place on Tuesday, October 6th from 5:30 to 7:00 PM at the Colonial Park West End Decks near West Point Dr., this event guarantees an evening of community engagement, entertainment, and an opportunity to engage with local heroes.
