The West University Place Police Department has received notice of possible scam calls imitating the Police Department’s non-emergency phone number. The call made claims of warnings about warrants for the persons' arrest and required cooperation. These calls are NOT from West U PD.
- West U PD does not provide courtesy phone calls to inform about outstanding warrants
- West U PD will NEVER ask for payment of any kind over the phone
- Gift cards are NEVER a valid form of payment for civil or criminal matters
If you receive a similar call, do NOT give out any personal identifying information. If you are concerned you may have a warrant through West University Place, please contact the West University Place Municipal Court at 713-662-5825.
