[ARCHIVED] Mosquito Control

Mosquito Control Newsflash Image

7/17/2024 - In response to the increase in mosquito activity, starting the week of July 22, the City’s vendor will increase spraying treatments to twice a week.

Day(s) weekly spraying occurs: Sunday - Saturday
Time of spraying: 8:30 p.m. - 4:00 a.m.
Every evening at 8 p.m., the City's vendor assesses the conditions to determine whether mosquito spraying will proceed as planned. If weather conditions are not suitable for spraying, it may be rescheduled to an alternate day.

The City encourages that residents are proactive in preparing for mosquitoes by following the 4 D’s: Dusk/Dawn, Dress, Defend, and Drain.

  • Dusk/Dawn is the recommended time to stay indoors, if possible.
  • Dress in light long sleeves, pants, and loose and light-colored clothing when outside.
  • Defend yourself by using an insect repellant that contains DEET, Picaridin, or Oil of Lemon Eucalyptus.
  • Drain standing water that may have been collected in pots and buckets near your home.
