After 13 months of diligent work, University Boulevard between Buffalo Speedway and Kirby will officially reopen to traffic on Monday, June 10 by 2 p.m. This will mark the completion of Package One of the East Side Paving and Drainage Improvement Project.
Package One involved the replacement of approximately 3,9000 linear feet of storm sewer pipe with larger junction boxes and inlets to allow for increased water flow capacity. Additionally, 15,000 square yards of concrete pavement was replaced.
Package Two is currently underway and includes paving and drainage upgrades along Wakeforest Avenue from Plumb Street, Rice Boulevard from Wakeforest Avenue to Kirby Drive, and Duke Street from Buffalo Speedway to Wakeforest Avenue.
