10/23/24 2:09 PM | 24-0639 | Virtual Gate | Officers responded to a Virtual Gate alert regarding a vehicle linked to a recent robbery in West U, where lawn equipment was forcibly taken from the victim. Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop, detaining both the driver and the passenger. Inside the vehicle, officers discovered numerous pieces of lawn equipment valued at thousands of dollars. The investigation revealed that the driver, Zachary Blueford, had burglarized a vehicle and stolen the lawn equipment. He was arrested and charged with burglary of a motor vehicle, and the items stolen in the identified burglary were returned to the victim. Detectives are actively working to locate additional victims to return the remaining recovered items, and the investigation into the original robbery case is ongoing. Zachary Blueford has a criminal history that includes possession of marijuana, evading arrest (x3), unlawful carry of a weapon (x2), unlawful use of a vehicle, carrying a handgun in a motor vehicle, and assault-family member. The passenger remains in custody as further investigation into his involvement continues. |
