On Saturday, August 23, at 9 a.m., the West University Elementary School will host a parade commemorating the school's centennial anniversary. Upon conclusion of the parade, festivities will be held on the school property until 11 a.m. Homes in West University Place and Southside Place, located along or near the route and school, may be affected by road closures.
The parade route will begin on Auden Street at Rice Boulevard and travel south, turning east on University Boulevard to Edloe Street, and then turning north on Edloe Street and concluding at Goode Street.
City staff have worked with officials from West U Elementary and the contractors along Edloe Street to ensure the site is safe and secure for Saturday's festivities. Please note that parking spaces on the west side of Edloe Street will be temporarily closed from Thursday evening through the end of the celebrations on Saturday.
