At its meeting on Monday, January 12, the City Council will receive an update from staff regarding additional modeling services for the West Side Drainage Improvement Project.
Below are some components of the additional modeling being requested:
- Regionalize the Storm Water Model
- Kilmarnock Ditch (above ground) improvements
- Kilmarnock Ditch underground conveyance
- Auden Street Improvements
- College Street Diversion
- University Boulevard Diversion
- Include areas outside of West U, including the City of Houston, City of Bellaire, and City of Southside Place, to show the regional benefits of the project
- Additional modeling to provide information to submit project(s) into the State Water Plan (which can open funding opportunities)
- Review alternative design considerations to reduce or eliminate key cost drivers and reduce overall project cost while maintaining the City’s desired level of service
