6/29/23 5:09 AM | 23-0342 | Virtual Gate | Officers were dispatched to the 2600 block of Carolina Way in regard to a virtual gate camera system alert regarding a stolen vehicle. Officers located the vehicle in the 2600 block of Barbara Lane, where a traffic stop was conducted. After further investigation, it was discovered the driver had no knowledge that the vehicle had been stolen as they had borrowed it from a friend. The District Attorney’s office declined charges. The driver was placed in custody for an open misdemeanor warrant and the stolen vehicle was recovered. |

Upon arrival, they located a disabled vehicle parked in a nearby shopping center parking lot. After further investigation, it was discovered the occupant of the vehicle was intoxicated. The occupant (Howard Hanna) was taken into custody and charged with Public Intoxication. The occupant (Howard Hanna) has no previous criminal history. |

Upon arrival, it was discovered an unknown person(s) took the victim’s vehicle without consent. There were no signs of forced entry to the vehicle. |

Upon arrival, the officer obtained custody of the subject who was then transferred to the West University Place Jail for booking. |

Officers located the vehicle and tried to initiate a traffic stop. The driver refused to stop and a pursuit was initiated. The vehicle eventually came to a stop in the 14000 block of Wringley. The driver (Jazmine Long) was detained and charged with Evading and Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle. The driver (Jazmine Long) has a previous criminal history of Assault and Criminal Mischief. |

Officers located the vehicle in the 3000 block of W Holcombe, where a traffic stop was conducted. Through investigation, it was discovered that the ownership of the vehicle was a civil matter and no criminal charges were filed against the driver. |
