Over the next five weeks, the West University Place Fire Department will be conducting annual fire hydrant flushing to ensure the safety and efficiency of water flow values and mechanical functions.
During this process, you may notice temporary discoloration of your tap water. This is a normal and harmless side effect of flushing. To alleviate any inconvenience, we recommend running cold water from bathtubs and outside hose bibs for a few minutes until it runs clear.
Please exercise caution while driving in the vicinity of fire crews as they carry out this maintenance. If you have any concerns or experience prolonged water discoloration, please contact the Public Works Office at (713) 662-5839.
