An officer was flagged down in the 6200 block of Auden for a theft of a motor vehicle that had already occurred in the 6200 block of Mercer. It was discovered an unknown person(s) forced entry and took the victim’s vehicle without consent.

Traffic Stop

An officer conducted a traffic stop in the 3100 block of Plumb. After further investigation, it was discovered the driver of the vehicle was driving with an invalid license. The driver (Miralkumar Patel) was taken into custody and charged with Driving While License is Invalid.

The driver (Miralkumar Patel) has a previous criminal history of Possession of a Controlled Substance.

An officer was dispatched to the West University Place Police Department Lobby in regard to a fraud that had already occurred. Upon arrival, it was discovered that an unknown suspect forged and cashed two checks under the victim's account without consent.

An officer was dispatched to the West University Police Department Lobby for an identity theft that had already occurred. Upon arrival, it was discovered that an unknown suspect used the victim’s personal information to attempt to open a loan without consent.

Virtual Gate

Officers were dispatched to the 3900 block of Weslayan in regard to a virtual gate camera system alert regarding a stolen vehicle. Officers located the vehicle in the 5300 block of Weslayan, where a traffic stop was conducted. The driver (Dylan Keen) was arrested and charged with the Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle.  

The driver (Dylan Keen) has no previous criminal history.

Burglary of a Residence 

Officers with the West University Place Police Department were dispatched to a residence in the 2700 block of Barbara Ln. in regards to a Burglary of a Habitation that had just occurred. The female, elderly resident reported observing an unknown male walking up her driveway and made contact with him to inquire about his needs. The male then quickly forced his way into the home through the door the resident was at, overpowering her. The resident and suspect engaged in a minor altercation inside the home before the suspect left on foot. Fortunately, the resident was not injured in this incident. Shortly after, the West University Place Police Department received another call regarding the same suspect in the 6400 block of Wakeforest St. It was discovered that the same suspect approached another elderly female from behind, grabbed her and forcibly struck her against a parked vehicle. The suspect then attempted to check the contents of the victim's pocket before being startled and fleeing on foot. The second victim suffered minor injuries. Responding officers quickly arrived, saturated the area and located the suspect nearby. The suspect was taken into custody without incident and was discovered to be in possession of a handgun, despite being only 18 years old. After conferring with the Harris County District Attorney's Office, the suspect, identified as Nathan Britton, was charged with Burglary of a Habitation, Injury to Elderly and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon. Mr. Britton does not have any adult criminal history.

Minor Accident/DWI

An officer was dispatched to the 3500 block of Rice in regard to a minor accident that had already occurred. Officers arrived and met with all parties involved including the driver of the vehicle that caused the accident. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the operator of the vehicle that caused the accident and showed signs of intoxication. The operator (Philip Barba) was arrested and charged with DWI.

The operator (Philip Barba) has no previous criminal history.

An officer was dispatched to the 3700 block of Tangley in regard to a minor accident that had already occurred. The victim said an unknown person operating a vehicle struck their vehicle and left without giving any information.
