The caller observed unknown suspects make entry into her vehicle before fleeing from the scene in a vehicle. Shortly after, officers located a vehicle leaving the area that matched the suspect vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. After further investigation, Romeo Gil, Juan Herrera, Darwin Hernandez and Alexis Guardado were arrested and charged with Burglary of a Vehicle. Gil, Herrera and Hernandez have no prior criminal history. Alexis Guardado’s criminal history includes: Tampering with a Government Document. |
5/31/24 8:10 PM | 24-0296 | BMV | An officer was dispatched to the 2700 block of Bissonnet St. regarding suspicious activity. The caller said they observed an individual exit a vehicle and throw a backpack down a storm drain before leaving the location. The officer recovered the backpack and through investigation, it was discovered that it was related to a burglary of a vehicle that had just occurred in the 2600 block of Wroxton. The unknown suspect(s) had forced entry into the victim’s vehicle and removed property without their consent. |
6/1/24 3:49 PM | 24-0298 | Fraud | An officer was dispatched to West University Place Police Department lobby in reference to a fraud report. The victim stated they believed they had lost their wallet and later noticed that fraudulent charges had been made on their credit card.. |
6/1/24 7:28 PM | 24-0299 | Virtual Gate Hit | Officers were dispatched to the 5100 block of Weslayan St. for a Virtual Gate hit on a vehicle displaying a stolen license plate. Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. After further investigation, two of the occupants, Steve Munguia and Jessica Rodriguez, were found to have active warrants. Steve Munguia was also found to be in possession of narcotics. The third occupant, Arnold Salas, initially provided false identifying information and upon confirming his true identity, was found to have an outstanding warrant. The warrants were confirmed and all parties were taken into custody. In addition, Munguia was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Salas was charged with Failure to Identify-Fugitive. Steve Munguia has criminal history to include: Burglary of a Building, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Marijuana, and Tampering/Fabricate Physical Evidence. Jessica Rodriguez has criminal history to include: Theft x2 Arnold Salas has criminal history to include: Aggravated Robbery, Assault Bodily Injury x2, Continuous Violence Against the Family, Criminal Trespass, Evading, Kidnapping, Possession of a Controlled Substance x2, Theft x3.

Upon arrival, it was discovered that a customer refused to pay for services/goods rendered. The individual was issued a citation and released from the scene. |

The other party/vehicle involved in the accident left the location prior to police arrival and failed to provide the information required by state law after an accident. |

The vehicle was located, stopped and after further investigation, one of the occupants was found to be the wanted person. The outstanding felony warrant was confirmed and the individual was arrested without incident. |
