DWI 

2nd Offence 

An officer conducted a traffic stop in the 3200 block of University Blvd. Upon making contact with the driver, the officer detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the vehicle. The driver exhibited signs of intoxication and refused to comply with a field sobriety test. A blood warrant was obtained and executed, and the driver, Bret Hightower, was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated.

Bret Hightower has a previous criminal history in Harris County for driving while intoxicated, unlawful carry of a weapon, carrying handgun in a motor vehicle, false ID, and possession of marijuana.

Reckless Driving

An officer conducted a traffic stop in the 6600 block of Rutgers. Prior to the stop, the vehicle made abrupted turns and maneuvers nearly causing multiple accidents and was traveling at a high rate of speed. The driver, Willard Curtis, was arrested and charged with reckless driving.

Willard Curtis has no previous criminal history in Harris County.

An officer met with an outside agency who had a subject detained with outstanding West University Place warrants. Upon arrival, the officer took custody of the suspect who was then transported to the West U Jail for booking.

Burglary of a Residence 

Officers were dispatched to the 2600 block of University Blvd. in reference to a burglary of a residence in progress. Upon arrival, it was discovered a witness confronted the suspects who fled the scene in a vehicle prior to police arrival. Officers searched the area and were unable to located suspects.

An officer was dispatched to the police station to speak with a victim of identity theft. Upon arrival, it was discovered an unknown suspect used the victims’ banking information to make fraudulent transactions without consent.

An officer conducted a traffic stop in the 5900 block of Buffalo Speedway. Upon contact with the driver, the officer detected an odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. A probable cause search led to the discovery of drugs and a loaded handgun.  The driver, Bryce Harris, and the passenger, Makinley Simmons, were arrested and charged with unlawful carry of a weapon. 

Bryce Harris has a previous criminal history in Harris County for deadly conduct and unlawful carrying of a weapon.

Makinley Simmons has no previous criminal history in Harris County.

An officer conducted a traffic stop in the 6800 block of Buffalo Speedway. Upon contact with the driver, the officer detected an odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. A probable cause search was conducted which led to the discovery of narcotics. The driver, Quinkea Jacobs, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance.
