On Friday, February 21, Public Works crews and its contractors will finalize installing new pedestrian signage at two intersections: Rice Blvd. and Sunset Blvd. at Buffalo Speedway. Work will begin at Buffalo Speedway and Rice Blvd. starting at 9 a.m. before moving on to the other intersection. Drivers should anticipate minor traffic delays at these locations. The installation will be completed by the end of the day.
In 2024, the City Council introduced an initiative to address concerns about pedestrian mobility and safety in the community. The new signage aims to enhance pedestrian visibility, improving safety for those crossing at these intersections. The City has contracted with a local traffic engineering firm to explore options and potential solutions for creating a safer environment for both pedestrians and drivers.
