An officer was dispatched to the police station in reference to a theft incident that had already occurred. Upon arrival, it was discovered that an unknown suspect(s) extorted money from the victim through a mobile app.

An officer was dispatched to the 6700 block of Vanderbilt in reference to lost property. Upon arrival, it was discovered the individual had misplaced a valuable item and had not been able to locate it. Information has been collected and a report for lost property was generated.

An officer was dispatched to meet with an outside agency who had a subject detained with outstanding municipal warrants through WUPD. Upon arrival, the suspect was taken into custody and transported to the West U Jail for processing.

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia/ Speeding/ Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility

An Officer conducted a traffic stop in the 6500 block of Weslayan. Upon contacting the driver, the officer detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The driver and the passenger were detained while a probable cause search was conducted and led to the discovery of marijuana. The driver was issued a citation for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility, and Speeding. Both the driver and the passenger were released.

Evading/ Possession of Drug Paraphernalia/ Possession of Marijuana

An Officer conducted a traffic stop in the 3600 block of Rice. Upon contact, the officer detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The occupants were removed from the vehicle so a probable cause search of the vehicle could be conducted.

While patting down a passenger, Andrew Escamilla, officers discovered a handgun in his waistband. Escamilla then fled on foot toward a nearby shopping center, but officers quickly coordinated a response and safely took him into custody within minutes.

During the incident, officers recovered a firearm that Escamilla had discarded while fleeing. A search of Escamilla revealed a gun light and marijuana, and the probable cause search of the vehicle uncovered additional marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The Harris County DA accepted charges against Andrew Escamilla for evading arrest and possession of marijuana, and the driver was released with citations.

 

Andrew Escamilla does not have a previous criminal history with Harris County.

Virtual Gate Hit

An officer was dispatched to the 5500 block of Weslayan in reference to a virtual gate license plate hit involving a person with felony warrants. The Officer located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. After further investigation, the driver Heath Chalk was placed in custody for felony warrants.  

 

Heath Chalk has a criminal history of Stalking.
