An officer was dispatched to the West University Place Police Department Lobby in regard to a fraud incident that had already occurred. Upon arrival, it was discovered that an unknown suspect transferred funds from the victims bank account without consent.

Officers were dispatched to the 2600 block of Cason in regard to a mentally unstable individual. Upon arrival, officers located the individual who was transported to the hospital for further treatment.

An officer was dispatched to the 6700 block of West College regarding a burglary alarm. After further investigation, it was discovered that a subject, who the resident knew, entered the residence without homeowners’ permission. The resident declined to pursue criminal charges.

An officer located an item in the police department parking lot. The officer was unable to locate the owner. The item was placed into evidence for safekeeping.

Traffic Stop 

An Officer conducted a traffic stop in the 2600 block of Nottingham for a traffic infraction. During the traffic stop, the driver fled the scene in a motor vehicle resulting in a pursuit throughout Houston. The driver ultimately lost control of the vehicle resulting in a one vehicle accident. The driver exited the vehicle, fled on foot, and was later taken into custody for Evading. 

The suspect (Corey Coleman) has a previous criminal history of:

Driving While License is Suspended

An officer was dispatched to the West University Place Police Department Lobby regarding a theft that had already occurred. Upon arrival, it was discovered an unknown suspect called the victim and told them they had a federal warrant out for their arrest and they needed to pay a bond. The victim paid the bond via Bitcoin, before discovering it was a scam.

An officer was dispatched to the 5600 block of Kirby regarding a theft that had already occurred. Upon arrival, it was discovered an unknown suspect had taken an item from the business without consent.

Warrant Service 

An officer met with an outside agency to pick up a subject for outstanding municipal warrants with the West University Place Police Department. Upon arrival, the officer obtained custody of the subject who was then transferred to the West University Place Jail for booking.

Virtual Gate 

An officer was dispatched to the 3900 block of Weslayan regarding a vehicle connected to burglaries in the area. Officers located the vehicle in the 6200 block of Academy and a traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle. During the traffic stop, it was discovered the occupants of the vehicle to be in possession of marijuana and had outstanding warrants. The driver (Javaughn Adams) was arrested for possession of marijuana and the warrants, while the passenger (Jaylon Jefferson) was also taken into custody for warrants. The burglary investigation connected to this vehicle is still ongoing.
