METRO's roadway repairs on W. Holcombe Boulevard have progressed near the periphery of West U. Crews are currently working near Belmont Street and will continue westbound towards Mercer Street over the coming months.
Drivers should anticipate temporary delays and are encouraged to plan ahead, use caution, and follow all posted traffic control signs while traveling near the work zone.
As a reminder, W. Holcombe Boulevard is owned and maintained by the City of Houston. As work progresses, West U will share updates from METRO as they are made available.

11/12/2025 - Houston METRO has begun roadway repairs on W. Holcombe Boulevard, from Fannin Street to Mercer Street. Work is scheduled to begin on the westbound lanes near Fannin Street and progress toward Mercer Street. METRO is anticipating work on the westbound lanes to take approximately 3 months.
After completion of the westbound lane repairs, work will begin on the eastbound lanes of W. Holcombe Boulevard, near Mercer Street, and progress towards Fannin Street.
As a reminder, W. Holcombe Boulevard is owned and maintained by the City of Houston. As the work progresses towards West U, the city will share updates from METRO as they are made available.
