Upon approach to the vehicle, the officer detected an odor of marijuana emanating from or about the vehicle. A probable cause of research of the vehicle led to the discovery of drug paraphernalia. |
11/18/24 02:13 AM | 24-0699 | Burglary of a Building | Officers responded to a burglary alarm in the 5300 block of Mercer. Upon arrival, an officer observed a vehicle leaving the area without license plates and conducted a traffic stop. The driver, identified as George Robinson, was found to have multiple outstanding warrants and was arrested. Further investigation revealed surveillance footage showing Robinson forcing entry into the building, and burglary tools were found in his vehicle. Robinson was charged with burglary of a building.

Upon approaching the vehicle, the officer detected the odor of marijuana. A search of the vehicle uncovered marijuana, burglary tools, and a stolen license plate that did not belong to the vehicle. Further investigation using the Virtual Gate camera system revealed that the vehicle had been in the area before, during, and after the burglary. The driver, Derramy Foster, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana.

The suspect then took the victim's phone and fled the scene. Officers conducted a search of the area and located the suspect, identified as Jarron Chaney. Chaney was arrested and charged with robbery.
