BMV

An officer was dispatched to the 6700 block of Stella Link in reference to a burglary of a vehicle that was in progress.     Upon arrival, it was discovered an unknown suspect entered an unsecured vehicle taking an item without consent. The owner attempted to follow the suspect to retrieve the item but lost sight of the vehicle.

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia/ Unlawful Carrying a Weapon

An officer conducted a traffic stop in the 5500 block of Belmont in reference to a vehicle parked in a no parking zone. Two suspects were found in the park past operating hours with alcoholic beverages in hand. While one of the suspects retrieved their drivers license from the vehicle, the officer detected the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle.  Both suspects were detained while a probable cause search was conducted. Upon investigation, the driver Rayshaud Strahan was in possession of a firearm, arrested, charged with Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon and taken into custody and transported to the West U Jail for processing. The passenger, a minor, was issued a citation for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and released to a responsible party.

An officer was dispatched to the 3407 block of Bissonnet in reference to a welfare check.  Upon contact, it was observed that the suspect was unsteady on his feet and appeared to be intoxicated. The suspect was taken into custody for Public Intoxication.

Animal Bite

An officer was dispatched to the 3600 block of Rice in reference to an animal bite that had already occurred in the 5900 block of Edloe. The complainant stated they were bitten by a dog that ran out of a backyard. The owner took possession of the dog and drove the victim to a nearby clinic for medical treatment. The owner was issued a citation for Dog Bite and Animal at Large.

An officer conducted a traffic stop in the 6400 block of Kirby Dr. in reference to a vehicle with a defective headlight and taillight. Upon contact and through investigation, it was discovered the driver had outstanding warrants and was subsequently arrested.

Expired Registration/Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility/ Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

An officer conducted a traffic stop in the 2600 block of Sunset in reference to a vehicle displaying expired temporary plates. Upon contacting the driver, the officer detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The driver was detained while a probable cause search was conducted and led to the discovery of marijuana. The driver was issued a citation for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, No Valid Registration and Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility. The driver was taken into custody and transported to the West U Jail for processing.

An officer was dispatched to the police station in reference to a fraud that had already occurred. Upon arrival, it was discovered that the victims bank notified them of their checks being flagged as potential fraudulent transactions.

An officer was dispatched to the 3100 block of Quenby in reference to a missing person. The individual was reported missing and possibly endangered. Through investigation, officers were able to locate the individual, who was found safe and in good condition.

Minor Accident- FSGI/ Recovered Stolen Vehicle

An officer was dispatched to the 600 block of Lake Street in reference to a single vehicle accident.  Upon arrival, Officers learned the vehicle had been stolen from a neighboring city, crashed into a resident’s front property and abandoned. The stolen vehicle was released to the proper owner.
