Traffic Stop

An officer conducted a traffic stop in the 2700 block of Tangley. During the traffic stop, the officer could detect an odor of Marijuana emanating from the vehicle. In an attempt to conduct a probable cause search of the vehicle, the officer ordered the driver to step out of the vehicle and ordered the passenger to stay seated. The passenger ignored the officer's orders, exited the vehicle, and evaded on foot. The officers lost sight of the passenger. The driver (Trevon Williams) was taken into custody and charged with Possession of Marijuana and Failing to Maintain Financial Responsibility.

Upon arrival, it was discovered an unknown suspect deposited a forged check into the victims’ bank account. The following day the same suspect, posing as the account owner using fictitious government documents, withdrew the funds before the fraudulent nature of the check was uncovered. This forged check resulted in a financial loss for the bank.

Upon investigation, it was discovered the driver had an open warrant for their arrest and was in possession of drug paraphernalia.
