Financial Sustainability and Operational Analysis

In November 2022, the City contracted with 110%, Inc. (Consultant), to complete an Internal Operational Analysis and develop a Financial Sustainability Strategy for the city’s recreational programming and services.

Over the last few months, the Consultant and staff have been gathering data, reviewing recreation activities, and assessing operational functions within the Parks and Recreation Department.

The City Council, Parks and Recreation and Senior Advisory Boards have participated in interviews, workshops, and received regular project updates during their monthly meetings. These resident groups have been an important component of the project as their perspectives continue to ensure the considerations are in alignment with the City’s overall financial stability, as well as, the understanding of our commitment towards our resident’s overall quality of life.

The final presentation to City Council will be on May 22. This presentation will outline the method being applied to develop a 3-to-5-year financial strategy and considerations for operational and programming approach. The considerations made by the Consultant will not affect the current parks and recreation operation but is for internal use of planning future processes and planning.
