Updates on City Services
City Services - Normal Operations
With the exception of Parks & Recreation (please see below for more information on changes to Parks & Recreation), all other City provided services are operating at normal levels.
Note - staff are adhering to social distancing protocols during the day and buildings have social distancing barriers and reminders installed.
Remote City Council, Board & Commission Meetings
The meetings for the City Council, boards & commissions will be held via telephone to comply with the social distancing requirements. To ensure you are receiving up to date information on Council, boards and commissions meetings, please click here to receive email or text notifications.

Parks
All greenspace within the neighborhood parks is open, but does not include playground areas, amenities, and benches - which are still closed under an order by Harris County.
Please understand that keeping these parks open will depend upon your cooperation by keeping out of closed areas, maintaining social distancing, practicing good hygiene, and following recommended health protocols.
Tennis Courts reopened on Friday May 1 as allowed under Governor Abbott’s Executive Order GA-18.

Municipal Facilities: | Buildings are open following public health guidelines for City-related business. We encourage you to do your city business by phone or email, but if must be in person. |
Parks & Recreation: | Limited youth and adult Parks & Recreation programming has resumed. Please visit www.westutx.gov/activities for more information and to register. |
Recreation Center: | Building is reopened with limited programming and occupancy (reservations required). Click here for up to date information on hours and operations. |
Colonial Park Pool: | Colonial Park is open with reduced occupancy (reservations required). Click here for up to date information on hours and operations. |
Senior Services: | During this time, programming for Senior Services has moved to the virtual format. Please contact Senior Services is you have a question or would like more information on their programming, call 713-662-5895 or visit www.westutx.gov/activities. |
Playgrounds: | All neighborhood playgrounds are closed and basketball rims have been removed at this time. Tennis Courts reopened as allowed under Governor Abbott’s Executive Order GA-18. |
Special Events: | All Parks & Recreation Events are cancelled until further notice. |
Pavilion & Deck Rentals: | All Colonial Park Pavilion and deck rentals are cancelled until further notice. |
