Effective Thursday May 21, 2020, Public Works Department returned to normal business hours from Monday - Friday (7:30 am - 5:30 pm).  The Public Works Administration Building remains closed to the public at this time.

Note - staff are providing normal operations, but are adhering to social distancing protocols.  Buildings are closed to the general public and see below under City Cancellations and Closures for more information.

These services will have minimal staffing on-site during normal business hours.  Other staff will be working remotely and while we do not envision a delay in the superior services we strive to provide, there may be occasions where responses are delayed.  We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.

The following parks will be open to allow use of the greenspace only, and will not include playground areas, amenities, and benches - which are still closed under an order by Harris County.  Please understand that keeping these parks open will depend upon your cooperation by keeping out of closed areas, maintaining social distancing, practicing good hygiene, and following recommended health protocols. 

Tennis Courts reopened on Friday May 1 as allowed under Governor Abbott’s Executive Order GA-18.

City Cancellations and Closures

Municipal Facilities:All buildings are closed to the public.  The only exception is the Police Department lobby located at 3800 University Blvd.

We encourage you to do your city business by phone or email, but if must be in person.  Then the PD lobby is open for general City business Monday - Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM.

Parks & Recreation:All youth and adult Parks & Recreation programing is cancelled until further notice.

Senior Services:All senior programming is cancelled until further notice.

Playgrounds:All neighborhood playgrounds and basketball rims have been removed at this time.

Tennis Courts reopened on Friday May 1 as allowed under Governor Abbott’s Executive Order GA-18.

Special Events:All Parks & Recreation Events are cancelled until further notice.

Pavilion & Deck Rentals:All Colonial Park Pavilion and deck rentals are cancelled until further notice.

Municipal Court:

All court dates through June 2, 2020 have been cancelled and will be reset to a later date.
