Wakeforest Plant Distribution Line Replacement

Overview

This project will increase the size of the distribution line from the Wakeforest Water Plant into the City’s distribution system. These improvements will improve the pressure and flow throughout the water system. 

Scope of Work

The project will include: 

• Approximately 1,410 linear feet of new 24-inch water line 
• Approximately 1,900 linear feet of new 16-inch water line
• Approximately 800 linear feet of new 4-inch, 6-inch, 8-inch, and 12-inch water lines 
• Improvements at the Water Plant to connect the new lines  

Distribution line improvements from the Wakeforest Water Plant to Bissonnet Street are within the City of Houston’s right-of-way and require approval from the City of Houston.

2024 

• February 12 -  City Council Approval for Design 
• February 26 - Design Process Begins 

2025 

• February - August - Permitting Process
• September - October - Final plans and contract documents
• November - December - Bid Process

2026

• January - Estimated Beginning of Construction
