Food Waste Collection

The City of West University Place is committed to promoting sustainable living and reducing waste in our community. One way to do this is by separating your food waste for composting to prevent food waste from going to the landfill. We have vetted two qualified vendors for food waste disposal: Moonshot Composting and Zero Waste Houston. Both vendors offer a composting service where they will collect food scraps and other organic materials from your home and drop them off at a facility that will turn them into nutrient-rich product. Both vendors are fully licensed and insured and have been vetted by the City to ensure that they meet all necessary regulations and standards. We encourage all residents to consider using these vendors for their food waste collection needs. Click on a vendor below for additional details and pricing.
