Mission
The Friends of West University Parks Fund (Friends) is a volunteer-based 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to raising funds for West University Place parks including improvement of parks and green spaces in the City of West University Place.
Members
Friends is composed of citizens’ who are appointed by City Council. The Friends work closely with the West University Place Parks and Recreation Department and are supported by an advisory committee of residents.
Fundraising
Friends raises money through:
- Citizen’s bequests
- Foundation grants
- Memorials
- Special events
- Annual Park Lovers’ Ball
- Fathers and Flashlights
- Various other programs and events including partnerships with local businesses
